BNE started the 2009-2010 campaign with 166 active leads and 39 active projects. Of those, 22 leads and 6 active projects are within the Renewable Energy Industry. With our diverse manufacturing heritage, skilled workforce, and access to clean energy sources, the region is becoming an important asset in US efforts to expand its competitive presence in emerging green industries and technologies. BNE has embarked on a mission to market our assets and capaitalize on these opportunities, targeting as a first phase the photovoltaic, thermal solar, and wind component manufacturing subsectors.
