Buffalo company moves into new HQBusiness First of Buffalo - by James Fink Business First
Buffalo Control Systems Inc. has completed its move into a 12,000-square-foot building it acquired on Leslie Street in the city's Lovejoy District. Buffalo Control had been leasing space in the former Pierce-Arrow plant complex along Great Arrow Drive. The new building allows the company to reconfigure its manufacturing footprint, a move that will save the firm approximately $2 million annually in overhead costs. Buffalo Controls makes custom control panels that are used in a variety of industrial applications. The company has 9 employees and expects to hire at least two or three workers in the coming months while seeing sales grow by 20 percent. "Once our customers come to our new facility, they realize we are a diamond in the rough," said Joe Miller, company vice president. In buying the building, Buffalo Controls has brought back to life an older industrial facility. "This project is further proof of how private commercial investment can have significant positive impact on the city's neighborhoods," said Tom Kucharski, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise president and chief executive officer. |
