Lorrie Abounader
Business Development Manager
Born and raised in Buffalo, Lorrie joined the BNE in 2008 as a Business Development Manager. Her career in economic development started with the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation, the economic development agency for the City of Buffalo. Her primary responsibility was as the coordinator of the Empire Zone, New York State's tax incentive program. During that time, she was also the administrator of the Federal Renewal Community.
Lorrie attended Geneseo State College where she majored in Geography and minored in Business Management and Art History. Her post-graduate work was at the University at Buffalo, continuing her work in Geography, with emphasis on urban development.
"The Buffalo-Niagara Region is host to world-renowned art and architecture. Whether it's Charles Burchfield to Andy Warhol or E.B. Green to Frank Lloyd Wright, I enjoy the variety of museums and stunning architecture found in my community that rival any major metropolitan area."
