Home > Industry Clusters > Hospitality/Tourism If we didn't live here, we'd be the first to visit.Natural beauty. History. Culture. Wineries. Four-seasons outdoors recreation. Casino resorts. With everything we have going for us, it?s no wonder that hospitality and tourism has become a major industry in Buffalo Niagara. And the data proves it out. Niagara Falls alone attracts more than 14 million tourists a year, while the region?s new casino resorts have already brought more than 5 million visitors to the region. From over the border, the Canadian Dollar is bringing Canadians in droves - and not only for the day. The duty-free merchandise allowances increases from $50 to $400 if Canadians stay over at least one night in the US. Buffalo Niagara is committed to keeping hospitality and tourism a vital and growing part of our economy.Hospitality and Tourism works in Buffalo Niagara! People are at the heart of hospitality and tourism, and our region is fortunate that one of our most abundant natural resources is our helpful and friendly people. And as hospitality and tourism becomes a more complex and sophisticated business, educated people are a must. Our region is home to a number of schools that have specialties in the hospitality and tourism administration. Buffalo State College?s Hospitality Administration program is one of the select programs to have received accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration. And the world?s first bachelor?s degree in tourism was granted at Niagara University. To accommodate our visitors, hospitality related investments are being made all around the Buffalo Niagara region. Hospitality and tourism businesses can take advantage of Empire Zones, geographically defined areas where businesses have access to vacant land, existing industrial and commercial infrastructure, a skilled workforce and abundant resources such as power and water supplies. A listing of available properties is provided through our real estate database. For detailed information, contact Christopher Finn at 716.842.1330 ext.362 or cfinn@buffaloniagara.org |
