There are many local organizations that can assist Buffalo Niagara's employers in building and strengthening their workforce.  Take advantage of the cost-effective training and development programs availalbe to you - from trainings customized (and subsidized) for your employees to pre-selected candidate pools.


Western New York’s Regional Skills Assessment is an agenda for advancing regional talent for economic growth.  This tool has plenty of information about how a firm can develop, attract, and retain talented individuals and in turn contribute to the economic future growth of the region.


The Buffalo Employment & Training Center brings together a variety of workforce development organizations and partner agencies to assist residents of Buffalo and Erie County gain employment and assist employers in finding qualified workers.  


Workforce Development at Erie Community College provides customized non-credit professional development training to local businesses, individual community residents, and local government employees. Four divisions Community Education, Corporate Training, Driving Programs, and the ECC One Stop, and an innovative entrepreneurial workforce team are available to assist our local businesses in remaining globally competitive. Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium offers an “On the Job Training” (OJT) program that pays 50% of a new employee's salary during a negotiated training period, which can prove useful in reducing a company’s bottom line.  Check the worksourceone website for more information. 


The University at Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) is a program to promote business growth through leadership development and experiential learning. It serves as a central resource for developing businesses based in Western New York. It is a dynamic entity that invites the participation of those who seek to develop their enterprises and companies in new and innovative ways through a 10 month core program.


Canisius College Center for Professional Development offers personalized, professional training and consulting programs that can be delivered in house at your facility or offsite at their Amherst campus. These offerings, taught by faculty and qualified professionals, provide participants the critical skills necessary to effectively lead their organizations. They offer customized workshops for leadership, effective communication, finance, fundraising and much more.


Need to sharpen up on your computer skills?  The Olmsted Institute of Business & Technology, or OIBT, is a New York state certified business school specializing in computer training. OIBT has classes on all Microsoft Office products including the 2007 edition! They can assist in all levels of computer training from beginner, intermediate to advanced classes.  All classes are taught by a Microsoft Certified Master Instructor and can be tailored to your needs.
