Buffalo Niagara is a unique bi-national region where life works for more than 1 million people.
The region shares a border of Canada and its 22 colleges and universities host many international
students. This is the place to find a diverse workforce.

The Immigration and Nationality Act provides several categories of nonimmigrant visas for a
person who wishes to work temporarily in the United States. If you want to work in the U.S.
temporarily, you need a specific visa based on the purpose of your travel and type of work you
will be doing. To learn more, please see "Temporary Workers" and "Employer Information" on
the USCIS website.  Source: www.uscis.gov

As an employer, it is important to be aware of all the resources that are available to assist in hiring
immigrant employees. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is responsible for
enforcing the nation’s immigration and customs laws.  ICE handles issues related to undocumented
workers who have secured jobs by fraudulent means, including presentation of false documents,
completion of fraudulent benefit applications and theft of identities.

To combat unlawful employment and reduce vulnerabilities, the
ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program was initiated in 2007.
The goal is to assist employers in targeted sectors to develop a more secure and stable workforce
and to enhance fraudulent document awareness through education and training.  ICE is a valuable
tool that employers can take advantage of to help with immigration procedures and concerns.
