Education works in Buffalo Niagara to a very high degree. Buffalo Niagara is home to 15 four-year colleges and universities, and 20 two-year colleges as well. With over 116,000 students enrolled, our colleges and universities graduate more than 27,000 students each year. If our graduates have learned one thing, it's that they want to make their homes and careers in a place where life works. So most of our graduates want to stay right here in Buffalo Niagara. That gives our region's employers an abundance of well-educated, work-ready individuals to draw on.

Think college town. All these schools give the region the feel of a "college town" - with the vibrant arts and cultural opportunities, sports teams, and 'places to hang' that come with a large student population. And even while they're still in school, all those students are an important part of our workforce. One example: our region's growing back office industry is staffed, in part, with students whose schedules let them work flexible shifts.  Think educated. The region is widely known for 'educating educators'. (That's what helps make our region's primary and secondary schools so great.)  Think unique. Unique-to-the-region programs offer employers an abundance of well educated individuals to draw upon. Our academic opportunities pave the way for the workforce of the future.
