BUFFALO, NY – Today Invest Buffalo Niagara (InBN)—the nonprofit, privately funded economic development organization representing the eight counties of Western New York—officially announced the hiring of Kim Grant as the organization’s Vice President, Business Development. Grant was previously Business Development Officer and Surgical Simulation Lab Director at the University at Buffalo.
“Kim’s extensive experience in advancing economic development in our region makes her the ideal candidate and a terrific asset to our team,” said Thomas A. Kucharski, president and chief executive officer, InBN. “We have a roster of exciting potential projects on our docket and really look forward to working with Kim to move these efforts forward, while also helping us uncover new opportunities to grow our region from both an employer and talent perspective.”
ABOUT KIM GRANT
Prior to joining Invest Buffalo Niagara, Grant’s role at the University at Buffalo included engaging industry partners and cultivating academic, public and private collaborations to generate economic development. These efforts focused on attracting firms to relocate to Western New York, connecting companies to potential grant funding, state programs and investors while leveraging her professional network to fuel innovation and growth.
Grant has been actively involved in the Western New York startup community for a number of years, working with 43North, the Western New York Venture Association and UB’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships. Over the last decade, she has also served on the Buffalo Public School Policy Board, the Western New York Invention Convention board and was President and Treasurer of the International Society of Automation – Niagara Frontier Section.
