BUFFALO, NY – Invest Buffalo Niagara (InBN)—the nonprofit, privately-funded economic development organization representing the eight counties of Western New York—is pleased to announce the appointment of Ken Kujawa, Regional Director, National Grid, as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
“I am honored to serve as Chair of Invest Buffalo Niagara. This organization’s work has made a significant impact on the progress of our region over the last 25 years and is critical to where we are headed in the future as well,” said Kujawa.
Kujawa has been a long-standing member on Invest Buffalo Niagara’s Board of Directors and previously served a four-year term as the board’s Vice Chair. He was elected unanimously to serve a two-year term as Chair of the regional economic development organization.
“Ken is a dedicated corporate steward and vital member of Western New York’s economic development delivery ecosystem. We are lucky to have his expertise in this new role,” said Tom Kucharski, President & CEO, Invest Buffalo Niagara.
As Chair, Kujawa will oversee Invest Buffalo Niagara’s business attraction and job creation efforts, as well as organizational initiatives including regional industrial site readiness strategy, the Be in Buffalo talent attraction campaign, Economic Gardening to help local companies grow, Global NY’s international business program and a role in Upstate New York’s Tech Hub designation within supply chain activation.
Kujawa succeeds Doug Dimitroff, Partner, Phillips Lytle LLP, who held the position through two-terms and four years. To commemorate Dimitroff’s decades of service to Invest Buffalo Niagara, the organization dedicated a room at its new offices in the Brisbane Building as the Douglas W. Dimitroff Buffalo Room.
Other officers, each continuing in current term, are as follows:
- Vice Chair: Michael O’Brien, SVP, KeyBank
- Secretary: Rebecca Gandour, Executive Vice President, Buffalo Urban Development Corporation
