BUFFALO, NY – Invest Buffalo Niagara (InBN)—the nonprofit, privately-funded economic development organization representing the eight counties of Western New York— today announced the successful attraction of T&T Legacy Metals LLC to the Buffalo Niagara region, aiming to create 30 new jobs and capturing $750,000 in capital investment.

T&T Legacy Metals is a steel processor and distributor. The company, after a competitive site search assisted by InBN, is now operational at 90 Pearce Avenue in Tonawanda – both in a HUB Zone and Opportunity Zone. The company is veteran and family owned, with a combined 60+ years of experience in the steel business.

“The T&T Group of Companies is so excited to bring their government metals and processing expertise to the commercial and retail metals market in the Buffalo/Niagara region where I have called home for over 22 years since starting school at the University at Buffalo,” said founder James Terhune Jr.

Both Jim Terhune Sr. and son James Terhune Jr. followed a similar path, first spending time in the United States Army and then entering the metals business. T&T Legacy Metals is an offshoot of their government metals supply company, T&T Materials, Inc., which services the federal government and large prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, SpaceX, etc.

InBN assisted T&T Legacy Metals in its site selection, introductions to Insyte Consulting for shop layout assistance, and incentives coordination, of which T&T Legacy Metals was accepted into the Empire State Development Excelsior Jobs Program and awarded a National Grid grant. Partners KeyBank, Small Business Administration, and Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce also played help land this success project.

“We want to congratulate, welcome, and thank T&T Legacy Metals for choosing to start their business and create jobs in Buffalo Niagara,” Kim Grant, InBN Vice President of Business Development said. “We believe a successful economic rebound isn’t built on home run mega-projects, but instead on hitting singles and doubles like T&T Legacy Metals and putting them in a position to succeed and grow.”
