Agri-Plastics Custom Rotomolding, a 30-year-old family-owned Canadian manufacturer, produces a wide range of plastic molded products — from calf hutches to flowerpots and everything in between. After successfully expanding into the U.S. in 2018, the company began exploring opportunities to integrate more advanced robotics into its operations, sparking the search for a new facility location.Â
Ownership explored Ohio and Buffalo, and were impressed by Northland Workforce Training Center and the opportunity to easily meet their skills needs.Â
Invest Buffalo Niagara, in partnership with Hanna Commercial, guided Agri-Plastics through the expansion process — from navigating incentive programs and tax structures to understanding the Brownfield Cleanup Program and confirming environmental permitting requirements.Â
To help illustrate the region’s manufacturing ecosystem, we also connected Agri-Plastics with Steven Rossi of Worksport, another Ontario-based company that expanded to Buffalo Niagara. Steven generously hosted a facility tour and shared his firsthand experience of cross-border expansion.Â
Agri-Plastics will become the final tenant at 2 Steelworkers Way, occupying 64,000 square feet and bringing advanced robotics and new manufacturing jobs to Renaissance Commerce Park.Â
